I sell enough to fund the hobby. Sales is a validation of a person's work. I decided to set up a Facebook page to sell cabs. I've tried using cab sales pages but it is annoying. The problem with a page is getting people to look at it. One way is the Facebook search. I put seven cab posts on my page and when searching for a particular material my posts are shown. I didn't even bother pricing the cabs. It will take a while to be discovered.

Sounds like a good project. I’m not personally on fb. Avoided it years ago to not get sucked into too much time online looking at other peoples lives rather than living my own. Lately I see a lot of posts about people buying rocks in Facebook groups though and I’m tempted to get an account just for that but honestly I seriously don’t need anymore temptations for buying rocks!🤣 Good luck! Hope you gets some sales, maybe I’ll see your page someday…

I'm trying to use Facebook as a way to direct people to my storefront on goimagine. When I finish a piece of jewelry, I post a photo and a short write-up, on my FB page, with a link to my store. I figure I'm getting more people to look at my store that way, and I even made a couple of sales because of it. You might try directing people to your Etsy site.

They are way too addicting and every day I need to remind myself of the sheer volume of rock I have already to work with. I will say I've been exposed to rock varieties I may never have had access to otherwise. The dino bone cab I recently made was won at one of these auctions to where I literally set my alarm for a minute prior to it ending and claimed the item (cheating? Maybe, but I wanted that bone!). I'm only recently back on FB because I was looking for more resources, etc for lapidary. Not 100% sure it's been worth it, other than my rock scores . I do silence people who share political crap though. That's the reason I left in the first place.
