Just how smart is AI? It has no idea what a rock hammer is or a hand saw. No idea what a tumble weed is. LOOK AT THIS: This is supposed to be wild horses pulling a stagecoach across the Utah Desert.

From what I've heard on some podcasts speaking about AI it appears the advancement is breathtaking and our world is about to be changed in a big way. I suspect that AI will be like many other human inventions, it will make into a wonderful servant but a terrible master. I'll be really impressed if it can forecast the weather accurately and consistently beyond a week out. Maybe the weatherman will improve his forecasts.

It def has a hard time with feet/hands! The dragon’s tail ends in a foot and is missing a front leg! And this hand has 5 fingers and a thumb belonging on the other hand 😆

At least you have a start. You never know what will happen next. I'm slowly learning what you can and can't do. But I'm thrilled by what happens with little effort.

I have a loose wire somewhere between thought and expression. So it never quite flows from head/heart to mouth quite right. I think this is a fantastic exercise for me for that part of my brain. I enjoy it immensely so far. Idk abt all the accts/users/commenters all being real tho. Some feel very bot-ish to me.

I've already seen what I believe to be these tools used to promote agendas and narratives. That's the most disturbing aspect of it IMO. We've heard about all the benefits it will bring, and little or nothing about its negatives. I feel like the unwilling subject of an untested scientific experiment that could be disastrous. Fools rush in...

The stormy background in the Alice pic is cool. While there are heaps of benefits to AI (for example, AI can help people from non-English speaking backgrounds write papers and get published in a context where they experience prejudice), I have concerns about how it's quickly used to create content that would normally require a lot of time and skill on the part of the creator. Continuing with writing as an example is writing fiction. It's hard. Actually writing a full novel, even a bad one that will never see the light of day, is tough and requires some level of skill plus perseverance. Working on it enough that it is accepted for publishing or can achieve success with self-publishing requires more skill development and many hours of work. Much like finding your own rocks and doing something with them (like slabbing, cabbing, etc) then selling them, the amount of skill and effort that goes into writing will never be reflected in how much an author is paid for their work (for most writers). It's a labour of love and skill. I feel very uncomfortable with how AI can be used to quickly smash out novels for people. Currently, those novels might not be great, but AI is improving all the time. There is potential for a "successful author" to be someone who plugged a few concepts and keywords into an AI writing assistant rather than being a person who learnt the craft of writing and sweat tears and blood to get their story onto a page. The tools we use to make life easier and more convenient are making us dumber and we're losing skills. TL;DR: I'm envious that a computer algorithm can write better stories than me

AI is in healthcare probably more than you know. AI reads imaging results faster and far more accurately. Same for diagnosing symptoms, finding rare disorders faster, creating pharmaceuticals and even surgery. Gene editing I don’t feel is dangerous now but I feel it could potentially be one day. AI eugenics, could you imagine the outcome?!

We envision ourselves as artists and the highest forms of nature and intelligence
AI looks at us like we are all on the cast of the series "Jackass"

I think technically my “boss” is AI. I’m a 3rd party merchandiser for a major grocery chain. I basically rearrange all the stuff so you can’t find it and so you wonder around looking for it and maybe you buy something different (or more) than you intended to. Anyways when I’m done I take pics and AI tells me and shows me through the pics I just sent vs the specs (POG-Planogram) and tell me to move product A from Bay 1 shelf 1 position 1 to Bay 2 etc. It’s even color coded overlay on the products like if something needs moved or pic scanned into database or tag is missing. I like it much better then human boss I can tell you that! 😆
