A long time ago when I was working in Malaysia, I saw some elephant crossing signs. I think I have a picture somewhere.

Most of the time in Kuala Lumpur in early to mid 90s. It was all "short term" between one and three months at a time. I worked on a solid waste plan for Petaling Jaya and then later worked for a consortium that was awarded a contract to provide solid waste services for the southern part of the country.

Darn! I couldn't find the elephant crossing sign pic. So here is another sign pic that is hard to read (before autofocus you know). From Anderson AFB in Guam, early 90s. The sign is in the middle. It reads Danger, Explosive Disposal Zone, KEEP OUT. Yea, don't have to repeat the last part twice. This was right at the end of the best swimming beach on the base. I had a picture of my friend standing right behind the sign but couldn't find that one either. We were told that after WWII they just threw all the unused and captured ordinance in this area. And once all the trees grew up, no one wanted to spend the effort to clear everything out. I don't know if it has been cleaned up since then or not.

My favorite sign was the one that used to be outside of Goldfield, Nevada. Read:
Cemetery ________
Dump
Apparently, not everyone thought it was funny and the sign was eventually removed and the cemetery and dump signs were separate by about a quarter of a mile.

When I lived on Oahu there was a very large fenced off area. It had a sign that read “Military Experimental Agricultural Zone” and “No Entry”. All I know is that there was cattle in there. There is a lot of atolls in the pacific that were dumping grounds for all kinds of war stuff, undetonated/detonated mines included

On a train in Singapore, the "fine" country (apologies for the blurriness). What’s a “durian”? On the plus side there is no litter or spit on the sidewalk, basically have to be a millionaire to drive a car there (cleaner living) and places 6th in best quality of life in the world. Extremely low crime, accessible higher education, accessible quality healthcare. Guess those fines are not lining pockets but actually going to government funding. 😆

Durian is a large spiky fruit. People tend to love it or hate it (it tastes okay... I wouldn't eat a lot of it). It stinks pretty badly, so they ban people from bringing it on trains, in hotels etc.

I enjoyed the googly eyes someone applied to that one. The other two I know at least jasoninsd would also appreciate.

For those people that don't know about Dropbears in Australia, this is genuine, real and official.
