Hard to say for sure being so rough, but from what I can see it appears to be pink chalcedony (cryptocrystalline to microcrystalline quartz).

My first impression was pink Lepidolite...but take that with a grain of grit!

My first impression was pink Lepidolite...but take that with a grain of grit! So I’m thinking that if I *do* put one in the tumbler, I’m going to treat it as an extremely soft stone and batch it with other super-soft 10-ply stone; I’ve got a good amount of Calcite and Howlite roughs. Don’t think I’d be able to tumble that one with the larger crystals if it is a softy, those would probably scratch everything else up. (Shucks, another raw mineral specimen for the display box. lol)
