Hi friends, the maker space where I do my lapidary work has an old Lortone LS Spartan 12" slab saw. I need to replace the belt but am unsure of what to buy. The old belt says "Truflex 2390 (4L390). I wasn't present when this belt was installed on the machine but had suspicions that it either was the wrong belt or was installed improperly since the belt didn't run smoothly, it was jumping around when on. I found an instruction manual online for a Lortone LS12? LS12C. The manual lists the belt as a 4L360. Can anyone tell me what would be the best belt to buy? The motor is 1/3 horsepower. Thanks!

kingson It’s likely that you could find a replacement at an auto parts store.

4L390 and A37 belts are the same thing and pretty common v-belts. Like Starguy said, auto parts stores are a good bet.

Yep, I went to auto parts store and got the exact belt I needed. Thanks all.
