I got a new book, and I thought I'd share
The book has 12 new designs, all with cabs, and most of them pretty nice to my eye.
I tend to like Erika's wraps, as she uses cabs in all or most of her designs, & for many of them I learn some new technique. She's good at explaining & showing exactly what you need to do. None of the vague instructions, as in some of the other tutes I've seen.
One thing I particularly liked about these new designs is the backs.
Sometimes, the backs on her wraps are overly "busy", I think she seemed to take a little extra care in their design on these.
I tried one of the cover designs - I never made a bail like that, so I was happy to learn something new right away.
And I have 11 designs more to try Patty PS- Anyone know what kind of stone in my wrap ?

liveoak Thanks for sharing! The wrap turned out beautifully, and I love the bail--a nice change of pace. I've been salivating over her Celtic designs book, but now there's competition. . . Looking forward to what comes next.

Thank you, Susan susand24224 . I have to admit, I already own her Celtic book. Indeed, it's a nice book, but I'm feeling more inspired by her new one. The Celtic one has a couple of bracelets, and some beaded earrings & such, along with a couple of pendants, this one is all pendants. I like pendants.

Thanks for the book review. Looks like some nice wraps to learn. I really like the second to the last one on the bottom. Your wrap looks great. Nice job, I really like the bail and the plain wire around the front accents everything nicely. The stone looks very familiar but nothing is coming to me.

Your pendant turned out great, liveoak Patty! Can't help with the stone. Pretty jasper, though. I like Erika's stuff, too.

I finally remember. It looks a lot like some slabs that I have that I haven't identified! Big help right?

I laughed about the plain wire, as it was a bit of a pain to make it work out, but I kept telling myself it added depth & I liked it.
So an extra thanks for noticing it Your pendant turned out great, liveoak Patty! Can't help with the stone. Pretty jasper, though. I like Erika's stuff, too. Thank you, Robin.
I was drawn to that wrap for the bail. I've ogled some of Tela's and needed direction to make it work out right.
So I THINK I learned something.
Thanks also, for the Jasper !
My primitive brain says Jasper you can't see through, agate you can. But I've found that's not always right.
So a "Pretty Jasper" it is
