Next batch. Same Bin First - this little piece that I adore. Normally a tiny little piece like this I would just give to D and not put much effort in it. But this one is so pretty! It's a Jasper/Agate Mix - Mostly Jasper with some agate in the flowery part. The flowers remind me of Hawaii for some reason. 1. Second = A banded agate. My first thought was psilomelane - but it's matte not shiny in any way. 2. Third - a pseudomorph. Bottom half looks like Apache/Mimbres. Strange polychrome like jasper along the bottom edge that doesn't fit. Top edge - drucy icicle lace pattern. So agate, rhyolite, jasper?? 3. Fourth - It's labeled "Owyhee Picture Jasper." Say what??? Is this Owyhee something? 4. Fifth - More blue Rocks. Up close very crystaly looking, no fluorescence. 5. Last - Google image search came up as "Strelly Pool Formation Stromolite Fossil - Australia" Is that correct, or is this something else? 6. Thanks again!

Thank goodness you are posting new slabs again! I was starting to have withdrawal pains. It seemed like I hadn't seen any new rock or slab eye candy from you or cabby in weeks, but I am sure it was probably only a couple days. Please tell me the supply is still coming. I need my regular fix!

I need my regular fix! I haven’t gotten new rocks for ages and the next load will be the last, unless the rocks they found under the brush pile ends up being lapidary material (one thing was cut apparently). Once I get my saws running again I will be slabbing, but won’t get new rocks much anymore ☹️

I need my regular fix! I'm so glad you're still interested! I picked up a lot of bins over the last few days, so expect a massive amount of slab photos in the weeks to come! I've been taking sooo many pictures!!!

2. Maybe black skin agate? Know what? Thats the same thing google wanted it to be!!! I think I'm going to take it back outside in the sun tomorrow and see if I can get better photos and the edges too. Then we can decide. Sound good?? The last week it's been overcast here - sooo many clouds! It's really been hard to get pictures when then clouds keep effing up the shots!!!

While I am not of any help with these eye candies, I have to look up that "Strelly Pool Formation Stromolite Fossil" because I thought it was just some very nice dendritic stone...

tribeunited no good rocks in the forest, unfortunately. Have some small boulders of granitoids and sandstone, but fieldstones got removed in the 1890s when it was a farm. Think a lot of the old fieldstone piles got used to fill in the moonshine tunnel in the 1990s, too.

Speakeasy! Neighbor is in his 90s and told us alllll about the moonshiners that lived here! Apparently it was well known and not really a secret at all. They made it in a tunnel out of sight but sold it on a dirt road that used to go through the property (the section that is now next door). Not uncommon for me to dig up pieces of glass or glazed jugs 😆
