Class is in session. I'm giving you some homework - I haven't searched for these yet. I will, I promise! It's been raining here so after a few failed attempts at taking indoor pictures, I figured I'd go through some of my recent pictures and pass out assignments. I hope someone knows something here. As always, thank you in advance! First one is just a name clarification. I've seen this listed as Wild Horse Jasper, but that name also belongs to the Owyhee picture stone. Is there a different name for this one I should be using?? 1. Wild Horse - thanks rockjunquie Second one - looks like apache rhyolite but wierd color. Not sure what this is really. 2. Indian Paint Stone - thanks rockjunquie Third one is pretty darn cool, if you ask me. It's a jasper. 3. Yellow Feather Jasper - thanks rockjunquie Fourth one was labeled "stony Creek Poppy." It struck me as odd, because it's unlike what I know. Anyone? 4. Fifth one - Pet wood. I know its a shot in the dark on these Pet Woods, but I'm taking a chance that maybe someone knows this. I hope so, because I have several more of these and it would be cool to know where they are from or what wood they are! 5. PW from the Park City Utah area - rockinrenn - Thank you! I saved my favorite one for last. No clue what it is, but it sure is pretty!!! 6. Nellite - thanks rockjunquie !

Dang girl, you're on fire today!!! I don't know why I didn't even think of Indian Paint stone - I own pounds of the stuff. You would think I would be able to recognize it by now. Nope - not unless it's obvious. It's that cheetah pattern that threw me. That was a tricky one. I quick google search filled in the yellow something. Yellow Feather Jasper. Thanks for that! Nellite! Another new name. Something new for me to learn! Thanks so much for helping with these Smooches!!

tribeunited. Number 5 looks like PW from the Park City Utah area. There is no more collecting there as the source has been covered up by a commercial area. My father collected a bunch in the 60's so I have a bit, but it is very rare now.

rockinrenn - OMG! I really thought asking about this one was a super long shot - I am so very grateful!! Thanks so much!!!! jasoninsd - Thanks buddy! I liked the Nellite too - the wild horse, not so much. It's a total dude rock. More of an acquired taste. Brown frowns. Different strokes, I suppose. But I'm glad you like that one!
