Greetings! Just over a year ago my wife and I decided to take a break from our 25-year hobby of drag racing (bracket racing) and spend most of our time doing other things. I have become obsessed with one of those other things, rock tumbling. My first tumble was an assortment of rough gems we had found at Emerald Hollow Mine in Hiddenite, NC about 20+ years ago. Even though it was my first time tumbling rocks, they turned out perfect and I was hooked. The tumbler I used was a LeFree 3lb rotary tumbler purchased from Amazon on sale. That tumbler showed signs of an early failure, so I purchased a Highland Park double 3lb barrel rotary tumbler which I have used all spring/summer 2024 on our finds from local creeks, rivers and trips made to Lake Michigan and Lake Superior; and Ohio Flint which could be my primary tumbles in the future. So, with lots of material to tumble I have just "put the peddle to the metal" and purchased two more Highland Park rotary tumblers; one double 6lb barrel tumbler & one 12lb barrel tumbler. I also wanted to return to a website/forum type tumbling community as I think I like this better than FB Group style. Now, IF I can figure out the whole downloading pics thing here, I'll be set. LOL
