I was trimming up some rough on my 6 inch saw and noticed my blade coming apart. It's like the part I thought was sintered is peeling off and all that's left is a steel core. I don't know much about blades but is that what I should expect from a sintered blade? I thought the part holding the diamonds wouldn't be a coating and should be solid all the way through. The blade is a Johnson bros 303 which claims 5mm diamond depth, and not that old at this point. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ In related news, I'm looking for a recommendation on a new 6 inch blade so please let me know 😅

Looks like problems with the sintered portion and/or maybe the brazing or laser weld that holds the sintered to the core. Could be a one off, a single batch, or just crappy blades. Do you use the trim blade to round the edges when trimming? Those blades are not designed to withstand side loading from being used as a grinder, if they fail when doing that it is not a blade quality issue. I have been using blades from Advanta tools on ebay, they are as close to MK/Barranca as I've found. Ukam is also a brand that is recommended by people I know who do a lot of cutting, but I have not tried them.

I don't use mine like that and typically just for trimming slabs apart and for small stones. I'm probably not innocent of applying side pressure but it's not something I generally do a lot of. I'll look those suppliers up since I'm in the market!
