Not sure if this is common knowledge but Lortone has 3a, 33b, and whatever the 4lb is called in stock in their website. I thought they had closed their doors. They are regular Lortone price.

Replacement parts also appear to be in stock: belts, gaskets, barrels, etc.

I thought they had closed their doors. They did shut down, but were purchased by another company (Covington, I believe). It appears that manufacturing and sales might be back up and running.

I own 3 Lortone tumblers (2 3a, 1 QT 66) so when they went out of business, I started stressing a little and buying belts, nuts, gaskets lol.
Glad Covington bought them and not a company I've never heard of.

Glad Covington bought them and not a company I've never heard of. It was serendipity that, within a month of Lortone shutting their doors the motor on my 33B died. I couldn't find one anywhere, then someone recommended I call Minnesota Lapidary Supply. I called them and they had a solution worked out!! Plus, they were so nice on the phone!! I bought two motors and some belts off them and haven't had a problem. It's nice to know that someone will step in and try to fill the gaps when stuff like this happens.

MLS is really good for finding hard to find items. And Val the owner, answers the phone most of the time.

Agree that MN lapidary supply is a relatively unknown but amazing resource we have! When I needed a replacement motor for my qt12 he had one. He also told me he's going to be making more "rock clamps" which are a vertical vise you can put into a horizontal style vise for extra hold. Last I checked (maybe 3 months ago) it was still on his to do list.
They also own the patents for "txp" polish (final polish for tumblers) and "rapid polish #61" (Submicron polish ~75,000 grit) which works excellent on a flat lap for polishing cabochons! And very good prices on those polishes too!
