I was talking to Cher earlier today about a small piece of poppy jasper that had a big poppy in the center of the stone, and she said "gooooo work up that cab", so I did and here it is. It's 35x16mm The poppy was more pronounced before I started grinding the dome, but it's still rather large.

Thanks guys, I'd like to take the credit Gaetz, but with this material it's easy to come up with something nice.

One of these days, I hope to accomplish something like that. OK, so I guess among the next items on my list will be some more templates...

No template used on this one MrC, this started out as a rough rock, not a slab. I just let the rock dictate the shape.

Woohooo Ed that is way cool!! Nice nice job there, I love that big ol' orange poppy right in the middle. I can't believe you just "did it up last night" like there was nothing too it. Great pic too, you can see everything about the stone.

What an interesting cab! Reminds me of some decorative vases I saw in the store the other day

Man, the color in that material just knocks me back. The cab shape is just right.

That one is excellent Ed, and i like that you cut it as a natural freeform. That Morgan hill to me is best cut that way, some of the frist thigns i do with a slab if i plan to cab it is break it. Then i trim it from there if needed. Though sometimes i can do that, and its slowing trimed away.

Yep Cher, went out and trimmed the rock, put it on my flat lap to flatten the back, then just started reading the stone, like a person on a mission. I like the colors in this piece. Thanks everyone.
