I know there's been a lot posted recently about poppy jasper, but it amazes me how different this stuff can look even though it all comes from the same area. This is the Morgan Hill variety, one I haven't seen before. Hope you like it.

Very interesting indeed, looks crystalized in those rings. Beacsue of their shape, but not actauly crystal. way cool

I may be new but I have noticed the variety in rocks not all of it is the same thats whats so cool aboot rocks great looking cab

Wow, those rings are very different, and the yellow parts look unusual too, like they wanted to crystalize or there is some other mineral in there. It is truly amazing how varied that stuff is. I spent some of the morning going through some poppy jasper and found more than a few distinct types, and that's just the kind found around Morgan Hill. SOmeone should write a book about it. Steve

Thanks all, this piece is nice and solid, unusual for stuff that comes from Morgan Hill. I came across some of the black with red poppies also, so I'll be posting that soon.
