I took the WWR agate I'm currently using for my avatar in to have it set in gold to give to my wife. I let the jeweler use his judgement as far as what the setting should look like, and I think he did a nice job. What do you think?

WooHoo! that is truly stunning.... I like the way he oriented it too! Lucky wife!
The setting is perfect for it - is it just glued in?

Stoner-
I love that setting. It's a little different and the uniqueness definitely sets it apart.

An elegant frame for a more elegant cab for an even more elegant lady! I would never had tried to turn the cab horizontally, but now seeing it i realize the jeweler was right.

Thanks everyone. I really like what he did with the orientation, and adding that piece under the bail gave the whole pendant more balance. I'll try and take some pics today in the sunlight to better show off the different colors in the stone and the gold. He used red gold for the part under the bail but it doesn't show up in this pic. The cab is one of my back-lit cabs and the jeweler was having problems on the back of the cab when he tried crimping the setting around the stone, so it had to be glued into the setting. He was very reasonably priced, in fact so much so that I gave him a $40 tip for getting it done so quickly and doing such a great job on it. And it still only cost 1/3 as much as the jade ring I had made from another jeweler right after Christmas.
