This has been one of the best threads on the whole board! It's so informative and I have learned so much: I can now identify unusual stones such as some kind of orbicular stuff or some kind of really weird looking stuff thanks to Curt. And if I want to use BIG words I know I can turn to John BuiltonRock for help identifying orbicularite and weirdite. If I ask help from NMRocks I can be certain of her answers. Well, make that pretty sure about the ones w/o question marks... If there is something incredibly tiny and old that needs identifying I know I can turn to Cher. She was able to see petrified frog eggs in that first pic and encouraged all of us to look close so we could all see the wee little tadpoles inside them. And thanks to Stoner I now know that if I ever get hungry when I'm working with my new rocks I just need to look around for some jelly opal and some peanut obsidian. I tell you, Sheri, you start some of the most interesting threads here at RTH. Thank goodness there are folks like Spirit Stone, LadyT, cleo12797, NMrocks, sabre52, pporky, and steveholmes to keep us on the straight and narrow or at least give us some great info on rocks. I'm going to start posting pix of some of my mystery stones. Can't wait to find out what they are. ;D Thanks to all--for laughs and information. Lady B

Looks like you got a lot of help but even without it you are definitly a winner for getting those stones.

I agree with Mel only I think the first green are variscite, and 9 is Lapis from the looks of it. Does #9 have anything sparkly in it? Actually both blues look like lapis.

Great rocks, but what has to do with them that pink towel in the plastic jar?

#9 does have gold sparkly stuff in it! The pink tissue is what the two tiny stones were in. Not really, I blew my nose and had to post it!! LOL
