Wow! You really hit the jackpot on this trip! Beautiful finds Zoran. I really like the agate vein pictures too. Oh and that graveyard marker is neat... looks similar to a Greek Orthodox cross but not quit the same... traditional Greek Orthodox cross.. ...has similar elements of a Chi Ro cross as well. I wonder how old that marker is. Thanks for the pics!! ...it's never too many. Dan

Great looking trip. Nice finds. Love seeing photos of places I will probably never see in person.

Thank you, all. It was my pleasure. And because you asked I promise more pictures soon. Pics of rock specimens I collected on this trip, of course. And I collected some. I wish I could bring more but my car wouldn't hold out. Unfortunately, I don't have field vehicle (although I think big truck would be more appropriate) ;D. And we don't have that big squirrels. You people, are unbelievable, you are looking to much at rocks. ;D That was only an old hay loft. Although there are wolfs. Really, local folks told us that numbers of wolfs increased lately. About looking to much rocks - on this field trip, at the end of the day spent in the field, after closing my eyes in the shower I would see agates, chalcedonies, jaspers... And it wasn't the first time. Did you experienced something like it or it is just me going rock crazy? Regarding that old grave cross - I suppose that could be dated around 550-600 AD - period of Eastern Roman empire (Byzantine) - period of Emperor Justinian who was born near by. Of course this only my loose assumption, based also on the fact that Byzantines were called "Greeks" by Serbs in later period.

Z...don't be too hard on us crazy Americans! We have VERY active imaginations. We also don't have too many old buildings that have fur growing on them! LOL
When I see pictures you've taken, I realize how old the rest of the world is compared to us. Yes...a skull about 9000 years old was found on the banks of the Columbia River (Kennewick man...and that was an historic and important find) but you have a marked grave that showed civilization and organized religion and sooo many other things.
Thank you for the wonderful pics Z!

Oh, my those are just beautiful. As for the cross I would say that it might have been some sort of alter that people could kneel and pray at. Thank you for the pictures, it is always neat to see pictures of places I know I will never get to see in my life time. Tami
