I'm finally venturing into the realm of photographing and posting pictures of some rocks - bear with me.
I was fighting a few things to get these:
Time - I didnt' have much!
Light - it was starting to get dark
Backdrop - eh - this old bath mat will have to do
Mosquitos - dammit
Dog obsessed with water hose - "Rorie! Stop! You're going to break my rocks!!"
- and another obsessed with the frisbee - "No Ruckus! I don't need a picture of the frisbee!"
So these were taken, as it was getting dark, in a hurry, with camera in one hand, hose in the other,
trying to get the rocks wet - but not everything else, while swatting mosquitos, dodging a
hose/water obsessed dog, and throwing a frisbee to keep the other one out of the way.
All the while, Melissa sitting in the chair laughing at the whole escapade. Looking back,
I should have made better use of the water hose. ;D
Not to mention, I'm not a photographer.
All asides...aside...
These are from Jamie - and I can't WAIT to get some of these cut up and
polished! There are some really really cool pieces here - most I don't
know - a few I think I do. Thought this would be a good start of my
rock photo-ing to share these and get some IDs from Jamie (or anyone else
who wants to chime in!). I've been drooling over these for a week now. I'm
afraid when I finally do get time to play with these I won't be able to do
anything but spray them and ooh and aah over them!
Ok - here we go -
First, the chrysocolla! These pieces... - beautiful colors - unbelievable!
this one is blurry - courtesy of Rorie the wonder dog -
Next - a pretty piece of picasso jasper that I'm hoping I can get a shine on -
though I'm afraid I might have to wait until I get something other than a tumbler...
This one I think is the burro creek stuff you were talking about Jamie - not entirely sure...really cool looking.
I have no idea what these are...
The one on the bottom - looks kinda plumey/mossy (if I understand
plumey/mossy anyway!) - very dimensional looking...used a flash on that one - should
have done that more as it was getting so dark!
Another cool Idontknowite...
and another...?
And these - no clue...but feel like I've seen them or something like them before...?
And one of my favorites - I just LOVE this - right up there with the chrysocolla -
love it love it love it! Not sure why it's so appealing to me...but want to know
what it is so I can get more sometime! ;D
There was also a chunk of what I think must have been some Arizona pet wood that
must have been camera shy as I don't seem to have a picture of it...
Anyone who can help me with IDs - I'd really appreciate it.
And 2 thumbs up to Jamie and her awesome box of rocks! ;D
Not a one of them is going to be returned!
thanks for looking! hopefully I'll better learn to manage my photo sessions!
