These are some photos of some of the pet wood I collected out at Chinchilla about a month ago. I wish international postage from Australia was not so expensive. I would love to be able to share this stuff around. I am thinking of running another pet wood comp soon...hmmmmm... Anyway, here are the photos. I collected all of this and more in less than half an hour without digging a single hole and I was very fussy about what I picked up. The stuff is everywhere. These are a sample of the best pieces The next ones are my favourites Love this last one! Thanks for looking. Have a top day. Mike

Fantastic pet wood there Mike! That last one is a killer. I've heard a lot about the Chinchilla wood and your a lucky hound to be close enough to collect it.

Wow, Mike, you've picked some gorgeous wood! I agree with you about the last one, but the sixth from the end is also awesome, though it's not so big.
Now I'm even more impatient to receive my prize from you!

Ooooo sweet? Is the postage terribly expensive? I'd love to have some of that stuff.

Condor, I can send 2lbs of tumble rough to the US for $20 (AUD) sea mail, $32 (AUD) air mail. The Aussie dollar is pretty strong at the moment, buying around 80 - 85c US. If you or anyone else is interested, let me know. I HAVE BUCKETS FULL OF THE STUFF. I would be happy to send tumble rough or larger pieces suitable for workforce slabbing.
The offer is there. PLEASE HELP ME GET RID OF SOME!
I love the stuff and would really like to see what some for you talented people can do with it.
Adrian - I keep hoping to see a PM from you saying that it has arrived. I think I am getting more impatient than you! I have visions of that little package sitting in a shipping container at the bottom of some ocean somewhere. HURRY UP STUPID PACKAGE!

Really nice wood! I'm finding the more (quality) pieces I see - the more drawn to it I become - and your pieces are beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

There's got to be a way to get some of that over here across the Great Big Pond. Is there a size limit/weight limit on the box(es) you could ship? You mentioned 2#s in the response to Condor but perhaps several of us could go in on one larger box and then distribute it from over here in Flat Rate Boxes. [Just a thought.] Here's a link for dollar conversions: www.x-rates.com/calculator.html that might help us figure out what we can do/afford. Lady B

Very nice stuff. I've never seen such a variety of pet wood before. I agree with everybody else it would be really nice to have some of it. Maybe we can all work something out.

Okay folks, here's the deal.
5kg or 11lbs - Airmail: $73 (US), Seamail $49 (US)
10kg or 22 lbs - Airmail: $123 (US), Seamail $73 (US)
Some of the weight would obviously be taken up by packing material.
A few things we would need to work out a) who's in? b) how much does each person want? c) what sort of material do people want, tumbling rough or stuff for slabbing? d) how you all want it shipped e) who is going to be the distribution person? f) what's the best way to sort out payment?
Let me know what you think.
The great thing about this pet wood is that it looks pretty good on the outside but when it is cut it usually blows you away. Picture 7 illustrates the point pretty well. Very dull on the outside but inside there is the orange and grey patterning. I will try to get some pictures of some cuts up on here in a few days.
