Alot of cutting there Tony. The red and yellow striped material is Mugglestone. The others i couldn't help you with. The purple-ish stuff looks really nice. I have always wanted to try some Turritella and so many people post some nice polished pieces. Looks like you had fun today as well. Steve

I think the purple sparkly is lepidolite. If it is indeed that material I have a question for you as I have a piece waiting to be cut. I've been told that like turquoise, cutting with oil will discolor lepidolite. Did you use oil coolant Tony and did you notice any oil penetration or discoloration? Anyone else know about this, I'd sure like to know before I saw my hunk.....Mel

Hey Mel, There is a different coating on the outside part of the lepidolite, the oil seemed to turn it white where as it was kind of a tan color before, and the white specks in the purple matrix seemed to turn whiter, but the purple did not noticeably change color at all. My Oil is now purplish-red though, and I cleaned it today just before I cut this batch.
