Wow. I sure wouldn't mind going on a rock hunt like that. But first there would have to be a Rock Shop around here. And I guess it would help if there were also some rocks around here. We have lots of sand. It's real easy to dig through. And sometimes you can find the remnants of charcoal briquets from somebody's beach barbeque.
Looks like you found a neat Find!

Wow, now that's a fun type rockhunt! Nice finds too. You've got rocks from all over, even what looks like a Laguna Agate. Neat!.....Mel

Oh Boy. Had me going to. I was gonna say, "if that's not having any good rocks, I wish we didn't have good rocks like that here." LOL!
You sure did "hunt" up some great stuff.

Well not "really" lying, they are rocks and I did have to hunt through the pile while in Kansas, Ha. I found some amazing stuff that I had to leave because it is too big and most of what I brought home will stretch the limit of the old workforce the way it is. I tried to cut the crazy lace this afternoon and the Wf said are you flippin kidding me? That may go to one of my good friends here with a real saw, maybe we can work something out.
Mel, which one were you looking at? In the 3rd pic or the sixth? I was kinda of thinking both maybe. They are each a little more than 4 inches long but the fortification in #6 does not seem to be very deep, maybe a quarter inch at least on the narrow end of the pattern. There are cuts on both ends so I am thinking who ever was cutting decided there would be nothing more in the remaining four inches, but who knows what lies in the hearts of Agates.
I am going back Monday morning, what you saw filled my little bucket and came to 21 pounds. Now I have a empty bucket so what else to do but fill it again.

Mark: The banded agate in the sixth pic looks to be a Laguna Agate. The one in pic three could be Chihuahua material like a Laguna too but I'm thinking the white sagenitic inclusions along the edge point more to Big Diggins south of Deming, NM for that one. Shoot you got a great selection there. Like Dan said, Aussie Dendritic Opal, Indian Green Tree and Moss, Wildhorse and Disaster peak Picture Jasper, some kind of Amethyst Lace, red sagenite, wonderstone, and shoot that green might be either chrysoprase or mtorolite. great bunch of finds. I have a local place called Bill's Rockyard that's about like that too. Never know what will show up when you dig through the piles and it's super great fun.....Mel

Hey, how about if I send you a couple of buckets for your next trip to the parking lot? It would save me a trip. Lady B

I'm looking at those trucks in the background and that rock pile and it gives me an idea. Just say you want to take one for a test drive and load up the whole pile. ;D Nice finds BTW. Steve

I know exactly where you are talking about Ebersole's, I really need to get back there and get some more rock. There is one piece that I want if they still have it and that is a very large piece of tiger eye. Too bad I don't live any closer I would just pick up and go. Tami
