Lookin' forward to those pics, Bob. I've got one small slab I just smoothed out by hand to 500, never tried to polish it. Very pretty stuff.

Almost forgot! I had some in the vibrolap too. I'll clean them off. I gave a bunch away at the NW Federation show...hoping to generate some interest. Everybody liked it...Bob

Well, shoot, if I had known you were giving them away I'd flown up! Nice stuff. That first one is really sweet, not like the paint stone I'm used to seeing in pictures. I love Indian Paint Stone, just haven't ever seen any in person.
Looking forward to seeing the polished versions.

What beautiful stones Bob, very very nicely worked, well worth the effort! I'm still a newbie, so most of the material I see on here I've never seen before, that stone is so beautiful, the softness of the colouring and the contrast in pattern, it's an intriguing combination. Thanks very much for posting the photos - it's great to see your work.
Cheers,
Harry.

Bob, Those are some nice rocks and cabs! I don't see the Alien Cow but I do see the long-armed skinny ballerina. Steve

Cool cabs! I like the first and second the best but all are nice. Seems they have a pretty decent shine. I don't see the alien cow either. Do I fail the test. Am I not worthy to work this materia. ;D

Thanks everyone...I really like this rock!! It cuts and grinds easily as it is soft. I think that if it had steeped a little longer in the old volcanic juices it would have hardened a bit more and made a really kickass jasper. But this is not the case. It takes a fair polish with zam and a hard felt buffer. I found 1 huge block of it while looking for jasper. And thats it. There is probably more but buried somewhere. Every slice is different and it is hard to believe the variation in this 1 boulder! In a couple weeks when I get a new camera I will be up to trading some slabs for whatever. I have been slabbing this stuff for a while and about 1/2 of the material will cut decent jewelry. I have traded most of my cabs off or there would be more pics of the variations. Iwill post again when I kick out the next batch....Bob
