Here's some more of the stuff I got at the Mo Mines Rock Swap. Also I picked up some rocks at the silent auction at the rock club picnic. I cut into some of these, but IIRC most were whole nodules. There are still MANY more to come.

Keep 'em coming Puppie mate, all gratefully received and apreciated, now let me see....... yup! I'll take the lot lol The swirley pink agate with the cream bottom is awesome what kind of rock is that exactly?, and the triangle agate is really shiney! get's my vote that's for sure. Don't you just love it when you get a totally perfect rock like that! What a fantastic shape. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post your treasures, It's great to see them. ;D Cheers, Harry.

Harry & Spirit, you are right, the pink and cream one is really amazing in spite of its weird shape. I wish I knew what it was. I had a lot of unsorted rocks with agates of various sorts. It doesn't look like the snakeskin agates -- they are more transparent and have a lot of inclusions. Thanks for looking & for the nice compliments.

My polish routine is different from everybody else's, Earthdog, as far as I know. I do everything after rough grind in a lototumbler and run it through multiple prepolishes in 3 days or so. Then I use some aluminum oxide I've got around -- I forget specifics or where I got it, but it is a decent quality -- and after washing the rocks well, put them back into the same barrel and run them for a half day or so with that, plus a fair amount of water and some glossine (additive that's "supposed" to cushion rocks in vibe tumblers, who knows?) Towards the end of that time I add some borax, diluted dish detergent, and more water and let it wash itself. Then I wash in down well & put it in the final polish barrel, this time with tin oxide and again some glossine and enough water to keep it fairly thin. I let it run for 12-24 hours depending on phases of the moon, etc. This can be done very inexpensively, since only 1/2 teaspoon of polish is needed for a run.
I never fail to overcomplicate a simple post.

Thanks so much, Don, though I think my true favorites are in "what I did last summer."

Great shine on them. You probably hit very hard the pinky one to make such a bump Adrian
