Hi everyone! Today I went rockhounding to a place I've never been before, on the Danube river shore. Danube is a huge river, having an average discharge of about 3.000 to 5.000 cubic meters/s. And I noticed that it seems that the finds on the rivers are proportional to their size! My finds (pet woods) were awesome, beyond any expectations ;D ;D Unfortunately I forgot my camera so the only pictures are taken home: The ruler in the right side has 40 cm The bigger wood weights 14 kg! It was quite a challenge to bring them back to the car. Some close-ups: Then my two faithful inspectors came and inspected my pet woods: Their verdict: very good quality, awesome patterns, colors matching great with the couch! What's yours? Thanks for looking! Adrian

I like your woods Adrian, the texture on the surface is really great! Looks like fossil wood! And what a brilliant haul of material, that should keep you occupied for quite a while! The patterns on some of those exposed surfaces are really neat, I can't wait to see more when you cut and polish them! Thanks for sharing the pictures and congratulations on a wonderful days rocking! And it was lovely to see your Cats! Purdy Puddy!

what a haul, too bad you forgot the camera at the river, maybe next time you can take some shots of you dragging huge boulder into your car!
love the Romanian kitties! what are their names?
that is an intersting pattern to the couch.....it really does look like slabbed wood.

Nice wood and great haul! The kitties are of course correct. The Siamese will probably tell you so all night. Now you must remove it from THEIR couch. ;D

Thanks everyone! Harry, I also am curious how will they cut and polish. The internal structure seems to be not as clear as the exterior, but I'll see better after polish. KD, the names of the kitties are Sissy (the first one) and Ursy (the second one). When we took the first one, my daughter used to watch TV cartoons Princess Sissy. As for the second name, Urs (read oors) means bear in Romanian and when she was little she looked like a baby bear. Even now she has a strange sleeping position for a cat: she's sleeping with her neck stretched ahead, just like a polar bear! Yes, Stonesshatrock, they also say meow, they only write it different: "miau" Adrian

wow! Nice finds - you and texaswoodie have a sixth sense for finding pet wood! Can't wait to see some of those worked up. This may be a stupid question, but, do you have to dig these or do you find them partially exposed? Bet you were grinning from ear to ear as you started finding them!

I wish I had the sence to feel the completely hidden woods, Onewomanarmy! I find them partially exposed. And you won that bet, it was something like that: ;D
