This is a chunk of dino bone I found in NE New Mexico............yes sandsman 1 its found its way here.I just love this piece, and I have yet to talk myself into slabbing it,not even one slab. For your eyes a fragment of eye candy.I hunted an area in San Miguel County,NM that had no shortage of dinosaur bone, fantastic gem quality stuff of all colors. The only dino bone we did not pick up was black....black meant it was radioactive. There was a large deposit of pitchblende in the area and bone that was black seemed to be associated with it for some reason. Now,I must digress.....folks if ever we have the chance to hunt together, you will notice that I have to fill my rock sack with anything red in color before I can see anything else. [/img]Sometimes it pays off. Here is my pride and joy a red, really RED piece of dino bone.I hunted the place I found it for 3 years and never found from whince it came. polished end and side

C'mon don't be a pussy, a little radio-activity would never stop a "real" rock hound. ;D

Thanks one and all.
Adrian,The area I lived in there was indeed no shortage of bone or coprolite or foot prints.New Mexico in my opinion is a rockhound paradise, there are many areas that have been searched very little.
