There was a gift box from Rumbletumble Sally on my porch when I got home today. Here's what was in it! An ocean jasper freeform egg with a delightfull crystal vug druzy on the back. It didn't show up well in the straight-on photo so I didn't include the back shot but you can see it on the right side of this shot too. Other angles... The egg measures 1-3/4" long and 1-1/8" wide. Also some nice fluorite rough... And a very nice horizontally oriented lace agate cab measuring 18x25mm! It's a beautiful sunset type scene with many thin transparent bands in it! Wow, I don't know what made you think of sending this great stuff to me Sally but thank you very much! I have been wanting to get my hands on some OJ for a while now too. I will keep a couple of the fluorites as display pieces and tumble the rest with some beach glass and sodalite next time i'm doing a batch of softer stuff. As far as the cab is concerened... Well, I guess I'll have to find a suitable mount for it so I can make it into something wearable. Thanks and big hugs Sally, that totally made my week! Although, Tony's BO cab is due to arrive soon as well... ;D Rob

What beautiful gifts! That egg is amazing! The fluorite is gorgeous. The cab tells a story. Like I said: "What BEAUTIFUL gifts!!!"
Hope you post some of the fluorite "finished" pieces when they are done.
WTG Sally!

Hey LCARS...how are you going to tumble the fluourite. I have some a friend in Vancouver sent me but I've been too chicken to tumble it. I tried cutting it and it fractured like crazy.

I have tumbled fluorite with beach glass and plastic pellet fill before in a 3lb barrel with decent results. The only problem I had was with some harder white matrix material near the edges of some pieces that weren't grinding off as fast as the underlying flourite. It doesn't take long and it shines up nice and quick in TO.

Alright Rob! That's a sweeet suprize...and aint they FUN!! That cab is really nice and the OJ EGG...WOW! I've never tumbled anything as soft as Fluorite, but it sounds like it's in the hands of an expert. It was awfully nice of you to Sally! Another gesture of kindness for the RTH. Steve

I can't take any credit for work. A friend of mine closed his retail shop and had incredible prices. I remembered Rob saying he wanted some oj. I had put some in the boxbut he missed the first. The fourite I got in a gem mine in N C. I also shatterd my first piece. It's fun to share what ou have. Rob, somehow I want to learn to do pics. I just got a barrel of rough in since my surgery and I looking forward to getting some things done. I hate my friend closed his shop but maybe he'll open another. He is a very generous man.
Im glad you're pleased Rob''

I'll have to admitt I can stare at that OJ egg for hours and not get tired of it. I love all the little spots on it, each ones's slightly different. Hmmm, I think I'll name this one "pinky", yah and over there is "blotchy", "splotchy" "spotty" and "Dotty"... ;D
