MY wife, Tonja, had a birthday a couple of days ago, and I wanted to surprise her with a gift from myself. She doesn't really get into my rock hounding hobby too much, but I thought she might enjoy a finished piece made by me. I found a cool little slab of Brazilian Agate in one of my many boxes of rocks that I thought would make a nice pendant for a necklace. I don't really have all the right equipment for cabbing, but I managed to get a good shape between the WF blade and my bench grinder. Then I threw it in a tumble batch and hoped it would turn out. Then, I took a small fold-over and epoxied it on to hang on the chain. The pendant is about the size of a quarter. Here is the end result.... It has a deep purplish/blue shade to it, but backlit, it turns a neat brown color. She loves it and wants me to try some more for her to wear! In the sunlight..... Backlit......... Thanks for looking! Dave

It's great, especially in backlight and even more especially because your half loves it.

Wow, Dave, what a lovely gift and you were able to do that with just a Work Force and a bench grinder! I'm impressed. I think your wife will be getting much more interested in your rock hounding after this.

Thanks guys, for the kind words! I have a couple more pendants in the tumblers that I am going to give her also. This one turned out better than I thought it would. They usually get a bit 'chippy' rolling around the barrels, but I made sure to check it every day.
