Hi, mates! Today the lady from the post office gave me a call (yes, I kindly asked her to call me if an Aussie pack is there for me). She was dead set about the three months shipping time! The pet woods picked by Mike from WoopWopp are here, finally! So, I drove there flat chat in order to pick my prize for the Aussie slang contest. Mike is a real RTH - er, the kilo he promised in his contest was in fact a kilo and a half! And this extra weight may seem small, but in fact it's so big regarding the exy shipping from there! And what a beauty of pieces! I couldn't resist and I polished two of them right after getting the pack! That one is, in my opinion, the king of the pack! It seems to be splitted with an axe a few days ago. And, Mike, it shows you gave it to me with all the pleasure and with open heart, it took an awesome polish without any come-backs to coarser pads. Also it seems you gave me an autograph on it, have a squiz at that "M" I polished it on one of its cross-section and on a half of the "axe cut" And the wooden structure is awesome, I was able to see the wooden vessels with a light microscope. Here's another great piece of wood, Chinchila I think. It was already cut and I polished it on 3 of its 6 surfaces And there were in that pack some other beautiful pieces of wood, having top colors and grains: And here are two extras, two agate halfs! Thanks again mate, thanks to you I have now some wonderful fair dinkum Aussie pet wood! Adrian

Wow that's a wonderful piece of pet wood, chop it with an axe!! great idea! Well it is wood! That's a really lovely chunk, I love the way the grain is showing so clearly, nice job Sir! Excellent polishing And the agate halfs are wonderful too, I really like the subtle yet clear banding, that's a sweet bit of rock! Thanks for sharing your treasures Cheers, Harry.

Wow! Sea mail does actually work. I had given up, to be honest. Adrian has been so patient and good humoured every time I have asked if the package had shown up. He is a real gentleman.
That second piece, the one with all of the different colours is amongst my favourite pieces I have ever cut. I love the range of colours and the almost checkerboard look some of it has.
Enjoy them Adrian.
Hey folks, I know I have said it before but I'll say it again...you are all most welcome to have some of this pet wood. All you need to do is cover the postage...which is pretty darn pricey...but the offer is there anyway. We don't have anything liek flat rate boxes here in Australia. Airmail to the USA for 10kg or 22lbs is around $160 AUD and our dollar is buying around $0.88 US at the moment. Of course you can go for less and you can go for sea mail if you are happy to wait.
I should be out in Chinchilla again in a couple of months...it will be very hot but that won't stop me...so I will always have plenty. PM me if you're interested.

Thanks, all. Yes, I'm really lucky with such a prize.
Brad, I don't cab for the moment but I want to build a cabbing machine and I have a lot of cabbable stuff. When I'll build it, I'll do some cabs from this chinchilla, but after I'll get some experience with other rocks, I don't want to ruin them.
Mike, thank you for sharing with me your favorite wood, that makes it even more special to me. It has indeed a richness of colors! And it's a great material: soft enough to ease the work but hard enough to get a mirror polish!
