Today I was met at the front by our mailman. He handed me a small padded envelope and I had some suspicions that it might be a rock of some kind, but wasn't really expecting a package such as this. I glanced to the return name for a clue, and there was no first name - only the last "Sellers".
The name tickled the back of my memory along with the address, but I still could not quite place its familiarity - until I opened the envelope up.
It was then, as I unwrapped the contents, that my heart leaped up into my throat, and the wife asked what was wrong. I had to wipe a small tear from my eye - as I am doing while writing this post even now.
The package was from Brian(Beefjello) as some of you might have guessed. But, I was in no ways prepared for what he had sent. I was standing there looking at two Thunderegg halves that contained the pictures of "two little dancing boys". It was his pieces that had inspired me to write my poem "The Prize Inside" which had been chosen as the GPW of Kate's P of I contest. I was stunned, shocked, floored and I think I lost track of time for a bit as all I could do was stare on at those two beautiful pieces that Brian had sent to me. I am still in disbelief even now!!!
A small note inside read....."Just wanted you to have these as a memento of your P of I win!"
Brian, all I can say is THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. There are no words to describe my feelings for your heartfelt generosity. I am truly honored that you thought so much as to send them to me. They will be deeply treasured for life, and proudly displayed, so everyone can see their beauty and meaning. I don't know how yet, but I will find a way to repay you for such an awesome gesture of kindness!! ;D ;D
Here is a picture to remind everyone of these awesome pieces........
"Once long ago, in a land far away,
Two young boys came out to play......."
Does anyone else see the toy sailboats that they both are holding out in front of their little bellies?
THANK YOU again Brian for the "Boys". This is what the true heart and soul of RTH is all about, and they will be cherished forever!!!
Thanks for looking!
Dave
