Hello, everyone! This week-end I was to a rock fair in Cluj, a city some 500 km far from Bucharest. It's not a big fair, but it's the most important rock fair in our country. These two rooms are the whole fair: I've made some acquisitions, but not very much. An ocean jasper piece: and an agate slab, with a very interesting white "pocket" with some level lines: Sorry for the blurred photo. Much more important than the new stuff, was that I met some rockhound friends and had a good time there, talking about the latest finds and "cheering" with some sand instead of beer ;D Such a trip could not be made without some rockhounding. I first stopped on a river bed and then into a spot where I was many times before The fall has clearly arrived here: And these are the the rocks that I've picked in this trip: The bone wit the pen attached for size comparison, I think it's mammoth or some other big animal. It's mineralized, being as heavy as a stone. The other three rocks near the bone are pet woods. These four pieces are found on the riverbed. The other pieces are agates, jaspers and thunder-egg pieces found in that second location Thank you for looking, Adrian

Nice finds, Adrian. And lovely countryside. Can we get a close-up of the bone? That's awesome-looking.
Glad you had a good time.

Adrian, it is some beautiful country in your parts. Those are some really special finds...especially the bone. That thing is huge. I'd like to see close-ups of the other stuff. Do you find many thundereggs where your at? Steve

Thanks, all. Brad, that church is in the catolic cathedral in the centre of Cluj. It was built in 1390, its height is 50 m and the tower's height is 80 m. It's called St Michael Cathedral. Steve, not so many thundereggs here, and as you see, the one in the bottom-left of the group photo is more empty than full (somebody ate its yolk ) Adrian

Adrian, thanks for posting the pics, really interesting. I can't believe those two small rooms were the entire show. That was a long drive. Great to see you found some rocks on the way home. That bone is definitly cool.

Adrian, thanks for posting the closeup. That's pretty cool to find such a thing, not to mention some great looking rocks.
