Here are some knife handle slabs that Conrock cut for me. Idea for a cabbing machine? Homemade. This has a 100 grit wheel, 200 grit wheel sisal buff and a leather buff used for knife making. Can it be adapted to do cabs with. Here is the heart material that I sent Rocklikker.

Great idea, knifes with rock handles! Do you intend to glue or to rivet the handles? Please post some when ready!
Nice cabbing machine, simple and solid! All it needs is a water supply, I think.

Nice slabs. That cabbing machine looks interesting, but I wonder if the motor is too close to the wheels or should otherwise be protected from the water. Still, an intriguing idea.

I'm so glad that I read that those were knife handles, my mind was racing...
I can't wait to see those finished - as for the machine, wish I could help you but I know nothing about that except as Tex said, keep the motor protected from water

Rocky, glad to see the slabs turned out OK, I know Tom was worried about them. Cool pattern on them.

Tweetie, what were you thinking? I WAS NOT thinking what you were thinking! (haha) So, I have an old, old knife that belonged to hubby Tom's grandfather or something. Can you do anything with this? If so, I would sure love to have it re-hilted for Tom. I have no idea how it was, originally, but I am guessing it might have been wrapped. The blade is still good and sharp, but the handle is pretty rusted. It feels pretty solid, however. Any suggestions? It would be fun to 'fix' this for Tom for Christmas, perhaps, and I love the rock idea.

Just a note: Tom came home, and wondered why on earth I had that knife displayed on the old towel. I hedged a bit, and then finally 'fessed up, I wanted to somehow fix it. He was pretty thrilled. So I sure hope someone here can help me out!! Jeez, now I have pressure!
