Howdy folks, I'd mentioned our Ojai Raptor Center recently had a fund raiser, "For the Birds III" where Jackson Browne was the performer who so generously donated his time and talents to our cause. Don't know if any of you are fans of Jackson but here are just a few pics of the back stage meet and greet at the event. I was head bird handler for the event. Thanks for looking...Mel Me on the back left with Rosie and all my crew with the birdie ambassadors: Rosie the Red-Tailed hawk and I talking to one of Jackson's people. The other handlers have a young Red-Shouldered Hawk and a Pygmy Owl: Jackson Browne in the Maroon shirt and two of our gang with a Merlin Falcon and a Barred owl: Jackson Brown and a whole bunch of us birdie owlhoots:

I'm a big fan of Jackson Browne. Been a fan of his since way back in the early 70s. Maybe even the late 60s if I'm correct. He's always up for a good cause. Got to see him in concert once.

That's funny, I don't remember Jackson Browne being so old. Then again, I don't remember me being so old. LOL He must still be doing well if he has "people".

*LOL* Tony I thought the same thing. Somehow we all seem to have aged a bit in the last 30 years huh? Jackson still has a huge following. We had folks come from all over the country and we sold out easily. Could have sold a lot more seats if we'd had them. We all loved the way he has such a green attitude and promotes environmental causes by supporting groups like our little organization. I was surprised to find him a very down to earth almost shy individual as so many famous folks I meet are real type "A" personalities that can be quite overpowering when you meet them......mel

Y'all think he looks old??? He looks pretty damn good (young) for somebody turnin' 60 next year. When he went to leave, Mel, anybody ask him to stay just a little bit longer? Rich

Always loved him! I guess I always thought he was taller.... LOL. How cool, that he helped you all out! You guys do an amazing job, why should we be surprised? I would bet that he really enjoyed meeting all the birds and the birdie owlhoots.
