Hello everyone. I was at a fabulous Rock and Gem show in Port Moody over the weekend. I found a few cool rocks. A great piece of rough Labradorite. I'll be going back to get some more because this stuff has flash all through it. Really beautiful. My question is this interesting quartz cluster. It has a pearly kind of coating.. some inside the quartz and some on the outside of it. Smooth as the quartz itself. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I don't know where the Quartz is from. Thank you for any help. Tammy

Calcite? Drop a tiny drop of acid on it and see what it does.

Hmm. I've never heard of Orthosclase before and I'm not sure that it's Calcite but could be. I'm just not willing to put a drop of acid on it at this point. My curiosity isin't that bad yet. Thank you for your thoughts. Tammy
