Since you have a nice vise, I would cut it into a rectangle. Cutting off the ends will expose the "pop". There is enough stone there to get a lot of cabs no matter what.

Yea I agree with doc- I think your gonna find that a cut along the LONG side are gonna give you more poppies-

Tony: The poppies are orbs so you cut through them no matter what the direction. However, the poppies do tend to run in bands so if you orient the cut to traverse the most bands you'll get more poppies. It looks like the poppies in your piece are fairly dense. Seems they get kind of smeared together during formation. That sort of convergence and distortion occurs in lots of Hornitos Jasper and sometimes makes it hard to get really well defined poppies no matter which direction you cut.....Mel
