Well I FINALLY finished a batch in the vibe, my first for the vibe and only my second batch overall. I had mixed results. The biggest problem was that the rocks dried out one night while in the polish stage. That's what I get for sleeping. ;D There is some polish stuck in voids in some pieces. Funny thing is I took them to work and offered some to my coworker and he only took ones with the polish in them. Said he thought they were more interesting. Go figure. The whole enchilada. This includes many stones from people here, a few I bought and some I found. The batch weighed 4 pounds. Maybe the prettiest, a laker from Snowdog. Another pretty laker from Snowdog. Chesapeake Bay quartz that I collect. Local flint that I collected. Mozarkite from builtonrocks The prettiest mozarkites. The one on the left I call butterfly wing. Got wood? Some reallycoolbutidontknowwhatitisite A couple of interesting ones. The batch also included about 20 cabs (started before I got a grinder) but I haven't photographed them yet. I'll put them in another thread. Thanks for looking. Tony M

Tony, My daughter wants all of those! The big one on the bottom left in #1, the pink/peach mozarkite on the far left, the butterfly wing, the green ones, and the gold in the last pic! She has no trouble telling us what she likes in all areas of life!
What a great BIG beautiful batch. Vibes seem to do really big loads in comparison to the 3-lb tumbers! Thanks for sharing.

Those look great!! I like my vibe ten times better than my rotary. One thing- did you do a burnish stage for the final stage? If you run them in the vibe for 4 hours in Borax and water (just enough to keep them wet), it will get rid of the polish that's stuck in the pits. Your first batch looks much better than mine did.

Great job Tony!
The local flint caught my eye....especially the real dark ones. I havent seen any mozarkite in the stuff that I have that looks like your butterfly wing. You gotta love that stuff, each piece is completely different, you never know what you're going to find.

Very nice Tony
How did you get that wood so smooth in a vibe? Beautiful stuff.

Tip-top batch!!
You've got a good shine on those - like Randy says a Borax wash will make them look even better.
What polish were you using?
I usually give my batches an extra few squirts of water in the evening just to take them through the night.

Thanks all. I followed Connrock's instructions for the vibe and they did go through a borax wash at the end. I might have had too much water in for that. I can always put them back in. The shine is just OK, I have some of Connrock's tumbles and mine aren't even close to that shine.
Amy - That was about 3 - 3 lb. barrels worth.
Shannon - Yea that mozarkite comes in just about every color and pattern imaginable.
Curt - Is it hard to get pet wood smooth in a vibe? They did go through several cycles in rough in a tumbler.
Erbo - I don't know what the polish is. I bought it off of ebay in a kit with all the other grits.
