I know there's lots of you out there that have had this experience. A rock sings to you. (stop shaking your heads...I know it does! ) I was lucky enough to be able to take part in a sale from Tiger Oak Antiques out of Boise. IMHO...Philips stuff is unequaled. Go take a look if you've never been to his site but be warned...a bib is mandatory! www.tigeroakantiques.com/Default.htmHe warned me that it would go fast and boy did it ever! Within a minute, I'd say over half of his stock was claimed. Today...the mail lady stomped up my stairs & brought my box! I only got a few pics & when I have more time on Sunday I'll take more but I just couldn't wait to show you all. This hunk is over a pound and even better in person. It has some of my favorite hues of greens & gold. Assorted little slabs with my Daddy's Old Scripto vu-lighter for size reference. This is about little kids fist size. And a last pic for now of Willow Creek. I don't think I'm going to do anything with these but display them as I just think they're too pretty. Please go look at his collections of both Morrisonite and Willow Creek if you've never been there before. His collection has got to be world class! Thanks for lookin all!

Wow! Both what you purchased and what is on that site is mind blowing...and I only looked at a few of the pages.
What can anyone tell me/us about Morrisonite? I have never really heard of it before.

Are you sure that guy takes these rocks from this planet? They are beyond imagination! You bought some beautiful specimens, the pair in the first pic and the one in the third pic.

I love that guy's stuff, but I never remember to look in time for the next sale. My wallet would be much lighter if I would remember....
Beautiful stuff you got! Congrats! I guess he just assigns them on the basis of the first email (or whatever) after the official start time (for each) item # is a winner? I'll have to look at the site more closely.
Thanks for showing us!

Stoner - I knew you wouldn't be able to resist!
Mike - Morrisonite is a jasper from Oregon. If you have time, go back to Tigeroak's website. At the bottom of his private collection page is "The Story Behind Morrisonite". It's an awesome account of Philip Stepensons relationship with Morrisonite and how he came to be a part of it.
Amy - Yup, that's exactly how they do it!

Wow Liz that first one is just dynamite. I also love green fist sized chunk, but I do have a soft spot for green. I've been to that website before and the stuff is some of the wildest rocks I have ever seen.

got a few more pics of Tigeroak stuff. 3 willow creeks all Morrisonite this last one I didn't get from Tigeroak. Both came off e-bay. The one on the right is an ocean tumbled piece of wood (not pet wood!) I picked up on the beach when husband & I took the daytrip. I just thought it looked cool. (yuk...sorry about the blurred pic ) Thanks for looking guys!

What a haul. You sure got some great looking stuff. I really like the stuff in the third pic. That is a great shade of blue. Thanks for sharing.
