Hi Everyone, Rod and I went out to the desert with a couple of our friends in search of some nodules and thunder eggs we had heard about, we never found the thunder eggs or nodules that night but we did find some really cool seam agate and some biscuits. We ended up going back to look for the thunder eggs and nodules two days later because this place was so close to our house, well...............We found them. There was nothing BUT thunder eggs and nodules for miles in every direction. I wish I would have taken a camera but we had to ride the quads to get to the collecting area, the whole mountain must of been made of nothing but thunder eggs, it was really littered with chalcedony roses and nodules, thunder eggs and more thunder eggs and then more thunder eggs, by the time we left, I was really sick of seeing them and that was the reason we had gone there in the first place, actually, I guess I wasn't sick of the nodules but I was definitely ready to find something else. If anyone has been looking for thunder eggs, I just happen to know where to get a few million of them. Thanks for looking and for listening.

Damn Jamie, you "seam" to have found some excellent looking agates. Forget the thunderedggs, how plentiful were the agates you found?

Hey Jamie, I'd be interested in some of those. Can you email me directions to the area? Call me soon so we can plan a trip somewhere. Patti

The ones in the 4th and 5th pic are out of scale regarding the colors (first one) and the pattern (the second one)!

Bob, Most of the mustard colored stuff is hard, some is porus, the black areas are the problem areas, very few pieces are without voids. The rock in picture #10 was solid even in the black area, actually all of the ones I have posted except for #2, #5 and #8 would make nice cabs. #2 has a thin black outline around the agate that is a void, #5 and #8 I think you can see the black areas are just pits but luckily they are around the outside of the stone.
Michael, we live between Wickenburg and Phoenix and no, there isn't really anything that we want and can't find in this state. (Except for diamonds, rubies and emeralds) We are very lucky to live here, well....There is one disadvantage to living where we do, now that we are only 15 minutes from most of our favorite digging locations, we never get to go camping anymore. We used to camp at all of these places until we moved out here.

Jamie, your posts are always such a treat. You find the most beautiful rocks. Makes me wish I was into rocks when I visited your area 10 years ago.

Heck I would be tickled pink to just be able to "find" that kind of stuff. Thanks for sharing the pics. So how much would a mixed box of thunder eggs and seam agate run me?

Jamie, have you cut into any of the 'eggs'? Curious to see what's inside. Do all 'eggs' look the same inside? As in comparison to richards ranch 'eggs'? Or are they just solid 'mudd' eggs? Curious minds want to know!! LOL T
