Hello Everyone,
So much to say and so bad at typing but I wanted to share some Christmas Day photos and let everyone know how much we appreciate all of the kindness and generosity each of you have showered us with. Almost every day last week we had a surprise waiting for us in our mail box.
I received the most beautiful Christmas card from Mitzi and her family and then the next day I got another beautiful card from Tonja, "aka" LadyT and Sheri, "aka" Rockhobbit.
Rodney came carrying in the mail and again another package from Jeremy had my name on it and when I opened it up, I found a beautifully wrapped cab that Jeremy had made for me for Christmas. Then a package from Susan with wraps and
THEN, on Christmas Eve, Rodney came in carrying ANOTHER package that had my name on it and it didn't just have one pendant in it, it had 4 beautiful pendants AND 4 awesome cabs that had come all the way from Virginia from another overwhelmingly generous friend of mine. Thank you so much Randy and Susan.
You just wait, after things calm down around here and I can find my brain and my Bank of America card, I will be getting even with all of you, unfortunately..... Both of those items mentioned seem to be missing in action right now. Last time I got gas, I think I left my brain sitting on top of my car when I pulled out.
Anyway, we celebrated Christmas a couple of days early because Katelyn had to be in Phoenix on Monday. We all had a great time, lots of smiles and surprises. I sent these pictures to my Mom and she wrote back and said, " Those are some great photos, you look like an axe murderer." Not exactly the goal I was trying to achieve but the stuff is easy enough to take off.
I have to think about all of you that live in sub zero temps during part of the winter, I don't know how you do it. Rodney and I got thermal face masks, ski gloves, thermal long johns, ear muffs, kamikazi goggles, (I know I butchered that word), snow suits and fur lined parkas just so we can ride the quads without freezing to death here in Arizona. We look like the Pillsburry Dough Boy by the time we are dressed and ready to go for a ride.
In the pictures, we are sporting some of our new winter gear and Katelyn is sitting pretty in her new recliner with her Barbie Laptop Computer.
Rodney examining his Thermal long johns
Still examining his long johns to make sure they can withstand windchill factors below 47 degrees.
The new addition I got Rodney for Christmas so he can haul more stuff on his quad.
My new look and my new 7 lb sledge hammer.
More gear for freezing temps
One very happy little girl with some of her new Christmas presents
Then we went to Roxy's house so Rodney could set her saw up for her and I snapped a couple of pictures of her beautiful new baby, she's only 5 months old and she has more hair than I do, you can barely see Roxy, she was hiding. I received death threats from her Mother if I took her picture so I didn't even go there, between the two of them, they spoiled us for Christmas just like they always do.
And this last picture is of one of her other daughter's playing with Katelyn.
I just talked to Roxy on the phone, (she's cooking) and the family is a little panicked because of all the smoke. Not sure if its still the saw that is distracting her or what. She was in the middle of cooking pork chops the other night when we showed up with her saw and I kept thinking, she'll come back in to turn the chops, or turn them off or unplug the roasting pan or something but I don't remember seeing her again and I was afraid the smoke alarm was going to go off so JerryLee, (her sister) and I decided to salvage some of the chops. I did finally run into her again, in her garage as we were leaving......She was already soaking wet, smile from ear to ear and looking for more rocks to cut.
That was our Christmas.
We are very lucky to have such good friends, Tom Kuzia sent me the nicest email so did several other people, it just made me realize how fortunate we really are. Thanks everyone and we wish all of you the very best this holiday season and hope this New Year brings you happiness and good health.
