Well since I was home for a few days during Christmas, the ole rock saw ran pretty much non stop, except for a couple of hours on saturday when I had to change the oil. I did fill a 5 gallon bucket with slabs, here are some of them. Some Burro Creek Material A couple of closeups Mozarkite from John (Builtonrock), except for the couple of Bruneau slabs in there Some material from Challis a couple of closeups Another rock from Challis, this one was so ugly on the outside, I almost chucked it. I picked it up twice to cut and set it down for later. I finally did get around to cutting it, and was pleasantly surprised. The only reason I picked it up to begin with was I could see just a tiny bit of agate peeking out from inside of it. This material is surprisingly solid. a closeup A small chunk of Willow Creek that has been riding around under the seat of my pickup for about 6 months, finally made it to the saw. a closeup And when I cleaned my saw out, I got about 2 gallons of tumbler rough out of the bottom of the saw, I will put that in the 15# barrel as soon as my experiment is done in there. (I put 15# of rough material in there, tripled the amount of rough grit, and it has been tumbling without being opened for 4 months now) Thanks for looking.....................Tony

Tony, You've been a Busy Boy!!! A 5 gallon bucket full of slabs...that's a lot of cutting! I love that Willow Creek material. Would you mind me coming by and cleaning out your truck?? I'd love to find some more of that and other treasures which lurk under your truck seat. Great stuff. Oh yeah...when you planning on opening up the tumbler?? I can't believe you've been able to have that kind of patience. I'm excited to hear about the results and see them too. Steve

Me, too. I promise to take care of it - I'll keep it under my pillow, instead of under a truck seat for 6 months!
Beautiful cuts. You've sure been busy!

That first Burro Creek close-up looks pretty nice too! Wow, Tony - triple the grit in a 15-pounder . . . that's a Rock Shed order right there! Rich

I can imagine there was a constant saw whine coming from your place on Chrismas! That's my kind of Christmas carol. I like the willow creek truck also but am especially fond of the Chillas rock that you almost chucked. Those while bits are cool. Steve

I am going to have to see if I can find a couple more pieces of that willow creek, then I can send everyone a piece. No Brian, I haven't cut that picture jasper yet, all of that stuff was in a to do box in the spare room, but then my daughter moved back in the house, so now it is all boxed up in the storage shed.....somewhere. When she gets back on her feet and I can turn her room into a cabbing and tumbling room, then I will be able to get all the stuff back out of the storage shed. Or when it warms up, whichever comes first.
