this very nice man was looking for sphere material. i searched through all my stuff, took measurements, weighed, photo'd several but only 1 made the cut due to his size requirements. he asked if i'd trade the rough for a large sphere. he handmade the stand. i'm very pleased with my trade and can't wait to see the sphere he gets from the rough i sent. here is the rough piece at 95 lbs double boxed with oven for scale. and yes i have no floors still in most all areas. septarian nodule sphere he sent. this is my largest sphere so far. kim

I think that trade works well for both of you.
If you drilled a few big holes in that sphere, you'd have the coolest bowling ball ever! ;D
A 95 lb package of rough -- that's taking postal-worker abuse to new heights, you should tape a bottle of back-pain medicine to the outside of the package! -Don

He must have a Tim-the-tool-man-Taylor sphere machine! Big sphere's go for big bucks. You got a nice one, Kim. And that piece of rough you're sending looks like it'll make a nicer one!!!

I see a new item for our woodturner, tonyterner, to make.... sphere stands!
Beautiful sphere, and a beautiful piece you traded. Gosh, look at all of the gorgeous stuff next to it outside! Do you have a big dog? There's something in the bottom left corner with a rectangular face... what is it, please? Pretty!

Wow Kim - that's a huge hunk! Is it the Swazi bloodstone? Are you gonna share pics when it's done?

Awesome sphere!! Hey, that 95 pound chunk of whatever is beautiful!!! I'd ask if you have anymore 95 pound chunks of cool stuff, but I'd need a bigger saw. ;D
