hi sam and welcome get some 3in1 oil or some sewing machine oil or if you don't have any you can use some motor oil with a eye dropper for now and oil the plastic bushing that the metal rods go through and see if it stops when ya get that done look for a spot on the motor for oil and give it like three drops once a month or when ever it makes noise
make sure you don't get too much oil on the rod with the pulley cause it will slide up the pulley and get on the belt and make it slip --- if it happens just take the belt off and clean with a clean dry rag and do the same to the pulleys---- you don't have to take the pulleys off just clean right on the tumbler
ohhh yea i forgot make sure the pulleys are in-line if not use an alan key and get them runnin strait

I looked at the CE tumblers on EBay, and they all looked like cheap Chinese junk. No thanks, I would rather buy a used one from a decent brand. Have you looked at thumbler's double barrel offerings, Sam?

Sam & Mrcoffee
Welcome aboard, if you read a lot on this site your knowledge will grow by leaps and bounds.
The most problems you'll have is from lack of patience, if you don't have a lot try and develop it. its a great hobby. Enjoy.

I have to agree with mr coffee, I had two c/e paid $50 from e-bay for one, $30 for the other one from Harbor freight, had a horrible time getting parts, fan problems, etc. About 4 months or so ago I got 3 thumlers off e-bay, a double 3lber, old looking, been well used, for $35 including shipping, two single 3's, both used once and looked brand new, and got accessories with them, one I paid $53 for, the other $37 both included shipping. All of them have been running with no problems, except the lid wearing out in the middle. I get supplies from Rock Shed very quick, and good prices. Terry

Hi everybody Thanks for the wonderful help an greetings:) I do have a thumlers tumbler. I started my second round o tumbling tonight....only problem Ive run into so far is that I seem to have developed a small leak in my rock drum...was leakin onto the base o the tumbler for a while but it seems to have stopped. Other problem is I cant seem to resist peekin at my rocks every day lol:8) My mom got me the kit for Christmas and together weve been lookin at all your pictures and the kinds of rock we can get on the net to try:8) She really likes green avertine* not sure if I spelled that right * Shes already eyeing the jewelry stuff that came with my kit lol:8) Have a great night ;D -Sam

sam when ever you open the barrels make sure you clean the lid and the lip of the barrel very good i usta use an old tooth brush to get in the lip because if you leave any grit in there it wont seal up good and it will cause a leak
