I have been a rockhound/lapidary for nearly 40 years now man and boy.My main areas of interest are cabbing, faceting, minerals and fossils.I have too many rocks and too much equipment......thats what my wife says anyway, but we all know she is wrong.I now live in west Michigan but spent most of my life in New Mexico.
I am a semi retired educator at the collegiate level.I still teach a few classes on WW2 and the Nasa moonshot programs.I have 2 sons one grown and just recently gave me the best gift of a,the fountain of youth a grandson.
Besides rocks and fossils,I collect just about everything but my passion is historical atifacts and photographs. Not much more to say except I intend to learn and help out here.

Welcome Stones nBones Good to see you and Welcome to the group. We're a friendly bunch and look forward to hearing about your fossil, flinty, rock polishing activities. As I'm sure you'll find out - we really like photos! There's always somthing to look at on the forum, and if you have any queries, questions or quirks - please do share them, we'd love to hear. Cheers, Harry.

Welcome, Stonesnbones! I can't wait to pick your brains, especially about historical artifacts, rocks, fossils and NASA. Congrats on the grandson. We are all waiting with tongues hanging out for your other hobby. Can't wait to see you post some photos! k

Hi SnB and welcome. Congratulations on your new grandson! This is a pretty diverse group, with rocks being the glue that holds us together. You should have a lot in common with members like Harry and sabre52. Check out the artigle "OK I'm a closet knapper" on page 2 of the member page; if you have not already. Looking forward to seeing your pics of rocks, fossils, historical artifacts and anything else of your interests. The members here are a friendly bunch and it should not take long before you are feeling right at home here. Daniel
