Hi Tom, welcome! That's right, I remember, in Virginia they say "hey" for "hi." I still do it - I was at VaTech from 1984-1989. What part of Virginia is Ptown?
I'm new here and everyone is helping me build my rock collection. I'm only tumbling for now, but I drool at the cabochons and wire wrapping. Surely they are in my future....
Enjoy the forum!

Hey amy. Ptown is local slang for Portsmouth, it's between Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

Welcome to the gang Tom, it's great to see new members joining up, I'm a recent addition too!! I smiled when I saw Norfolk, I'm sitting here right now - about 4,500 miles away, it;s great to meet a fellow resident ;D I'm sure you'll find lots of interesting info and some amazing rocks around this board, but the real prize are the folks you'll meet, RTH really rocks Oh - and did anyone mention how much we like photos? Okey dokey - newbie or not - the competition board is the place to be - and your just in time to vote in LadyBeabeas Totally Awesome Poetry of Images Competition. It's been a complete hoot for all participants, so grab a coffee and sit back for an inspirational read, and the chance to vote for your favorite works, there's loads to choose from. ;D So what are you waiting for? forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=comptime&action=display&thread=1188446697Cheers, Harry.

Tom, welcome aboard. This is truly an interesting and knowledgeable group. You have excellent taste in lapidary dealers also.
