Hi, I'm Mary, rockmary, in Northeast Arkansas. We retired here from from NY State. I'm a rock addict- been one for 10 years. It started small: joined a rock club. It escalated: was President 3 years and boosted membership 70%. Trouble was, I did this by bringing in great programs. Now I'd like to try to get folks interested in rocks. Unfortunately, no one had a vibrating tumbler, and so I was thrilled to find your site and learn what to do with it. I also have a blacklight- shortwave and longwave, an 8" saw, and flat lapidary equipment which I haven;t used in 5 years, so I guess I'll be asking for advice on that, next. I also have specimens in every room of my house- I decorate with rocks- althought Joe, my husband, calls them my "gravel." My second love is shells. I love the advice, the different topics, and the pictures here- the wire wrap is incredible!!!!!!! I just love y'all a bunch (I talk Southern, now)

Welcome to RTH, Rockmary! You're gonna love it here. And we are sure to benefit from having you on board with us as well.
I am a kindred spirit--Love Rocks; Love Shells!!!
We like Show and Tell here so share info and pix as much as possible. And ask questions--there is always someone who comes along with answers!
Welcome!
Lady B

Welcome! You've just been greeted by two of the friendliest members of RTH - well, there's lots of friendly ones, but I think these are the first two who greeted me!
I've been here about a month or so. It's a fabulous place full of knowledge and generosity. And yes, we all love pictures!
Again, welcome. Amy

Starting small... Having rocks in every room... Hey, that's me! Or does that fit to every rockhound? Welcome aboard, Mary! I can't wait to see that flat lap! Adrian

Welcome, Mary! I encourage you to check out the competition forum, and post a recipe. All entries will receive a RTH T-shirt, plus other great prizes. I would be interested in your programs! No rock club here, but we do have science camps for kids, and program advice is always welcome. Decorating With Rocks sounds like me, and many others here, what fun! Better get that equipment up and grinding/cutting, because we all want some pictures!
Glad to have ya! (Love the drawl, by the way) Karen
