I have read numerious articles about the hazards of sawing and grinding rocks. As all of use know that rocks are made mostly of silica. Breathing silica dust over a long period of time can cause lung problems. Even when using water to cool the rock down still puts a mist in the air. Use a good resperator. It might cost your thirty bucks but it's better than not breathing like you should. The old boy I bought all my lapidary stuff from was doing it for over thirty years and had to stop because he was having alot of health problems because of his lungs. I don't know about you but I like breathing and like to keep doing it for a long time. If you want to know more about this GOOGLE is the best way to find out more info.
