If you don't mind me asking, what grit sizes do you get? I have a book that says start out with 120 (that site only has 100), then 220, 400, 600, and 1100 Sorry to sound so ignorant to the fact but I'm totally new to this

thanks sandman. I think the wheel that I have is silicon carbide too but it's been doing really good in grinding. And yes, I'm pretty much only set up to do cabs. Have to find me some dob wax though as it's hard to do by just holding it cuz you can't really get the top surface that way

tinman, from what I was told by a guy who runs the local rock shop here is to just cut yourself a wooden disk, put some spongy material on it so you have some cushion and then put your disc on that with some adhesive that basically makes it like a sticker so you can peel it off. The adhesive I haven't been able to find yet either if anyone has any suggestions on that for me

i bought disc for my flat lap so i could try it out when i got it the person who had it had cut a buncha wood master laps and put rubber faces on them and thats what you glue the disc on then mount the wood lap on the machine--but if you have a grinder you can get a polish disc that screws to the arbor with a rubber face and use that for dif grits also

look on the side of the wheel you have and it will prob say 100 or 80 grit then just go from there you wont need to buy that grit in disc--- i jump from 80 to 220 i skip 100 grit and go back to that site i showed you and its called 3M fethering adhesive it comes in a tube
