I was out in the woods today pickin' up some cool stuff off the ground, saw a really pretty rock and uncovered this gal! She almost gave me a piece of her mind! This Centipede was about half the length of a pencil, I saw one in Winslow that was a pencil and a half! They start coming in the house during winter so I learned a long time ago to wear house slippers with tough soles! (not the kind of thing you want to step on when the lights are out)

Ok, THAT's why I don't live in AZ! That bug is TOO BIG. And you have scorpions? I knew there was a good reason for occasional freezing weather and that thing is it.

No scorpions in Northern Arizona thankfully. I can take snakes and spiders, centipedes I am not to crazy about but scorpions! I just don't like them! I saw one for the first time down by Phoenix last year, I uncovered it looking for fire agate and I did not like it. Just something about those suckers that remind me of evil! Speaking of freezing, I think this centipede was staying out of the freeze as we just had more snow 3 days ago, I kind of felt bad for waking her up!

Yeah we have lots of rattlers here. They pretty much leave you alone. But scorpions? Bugs that kill? No thanx! Guess it's whatever you are used to. I sure hope the rock that was over that thing was worth it!

I could live with brown recluses in Kansas. They weren't that frequent of visitors, but I'll never get used to seeing scorpions and black widows in my home. It gives you a nice adrenaline boost whenever you come across them. You also become somewhat thankful to see skunks around, as they munch on scorpions.

Hooray for skunks! (my wife thinks I am nuts because, in an odd way, I kind of like the smell of skunk!)

will that kill you if you step on it?
my inquisitive nature would cause me to want to look at any bug that is being still but things that zoom around and cause chaos cause me to join right in the show. even if i'm driving....

My wife is a Cap also, two goats in one house. Yes, we butt heads all day long but are still happily in love after 7 years! (Whoah! Just checked the date! Our anniversary is tomorrow!)

No it would just hurt like heck and make you sick for a few days. I know a guy who got stung on his face while he was sleeeping down in the Grand Canyon. He had to sit it out for a few days before hiking back out.

EEEEwwww! I hate bugs! Of any size, shape or whatever. I can go toe to toe with a 300 lb man or break into the middle of the worst catfight you could possibly imagine, but show me a bug & I scream like a little girl.

daniel all true stories:
1) left my vehicle in the intersection and cried until some chick in a convertible got out and smacked the wasp with her shoe 2) jumped a coffee table during a very important and professional meeting, blew all the buttons off the bottom 1/2 of my dress and was down the hall in a flash - the psychiatrist who normally was very serious had to end the meeting because he could not stop laughing 3) had time to pull over and left my child strapped in her car seat while i we both wailed - thank goodness it finally flew out 4) left my child and the dog when i stirred up some wasps and we all got stung but i was the winner of the race - hubby had to go get them lol 5) was jogging with my glasses on (normally i wear contacts) and a horsefly zoomed me. i slung my glasses off screaming and shaking my head and couldn't find them lol. couldn't see where the horsefly went, couldn't find my glasses.......it was shameful
i do not like things that sting and make bzzzzzzzzzz noises. my child now acts just as bad and people say i've caused it....i do not know where they get that idea?
