Hey all. A while back we got this small round table in the shop at work to be refinished and it was missing a complete section of the carved apron. Here's what the table looks like now. Since you just can't buy a replacement section, I was given the task to reproduce it as close as possible, without spending too much time on it. Here's one of the original sections, And here's the section I did as the replacement. This was the most extensive carving I've done, it's a little rough and I wish I could have spent more time on it, but it's better than what they had!

I agree, much better than what they had. The before pic looks too ....... hmm what word am I looking for? Stamped? Yes, that's it, like it was stamped and there are a thousand more like it.
It is obvious that care was taken to reproduce the original design, and that the craftsmanship shines through. They will be thrilled.

What a great looking little table. Ed you did a terrific job recreating the missing panel. When did you find time to do that with all the rock stuff? ;D

WTG Ed! Do you work in a woodshop? I refinished furniture for about 10 years.

that's amazing! working with wood must seem like working in butter after all the stone shaping you do....
great job on the table!

If you are so tallented in carving wood, why don't you include some cabs in that table (or in another one)? I think it would look great.
