On My trip to Mohican in East Central Ohio, I came across some pretty weird stuff, and it seemed to be pretty wide spread. The outside has a nice shiny and hard layer, but the inside seems to be like pure iron. When they are cracked open it is almost like the rock has rusted away from the inside out, and it covers everything with that rusty - reddish color. I've added a picture of the stuff and wondered if anyone has any thoughts as to what can be done with it, if anything? The closest thing I could find was at this link. Its the fourth one down - Banded Iron Formations. www.earthscienceworld.org/images/search/browseresults.html?Category=7

Taking a stab in the dark here, but it just might be Hematite or Iron Ore? I am sure someone will know what it is for sure.
