Here's a few pieces I'm in the process of tumbling. Shown wet to (hopefully!) simulate polish, 'cause they're just finished with the coarse grind stage. Kind of chippy material, but I think it will take a nice polish. -Don A bit closer:

If you want more pictures, you can pick quite a few off the completed listings on ebay. Just search on "Tahoma".

Larry - it's kinda hard to get a feel for your Tahoma. I can't tell if you have little thin slabs of the vein or what. Ohhhhhh Don! Now THAT"S what I call Tahoma I may have said on another thread...I just got 2 boxes of Tahoma. One box is really nice stuff like Don is showing. But the other is (IMHO) dissapointing. Very thin vein (.5 at it's widest) & doesn't have room to show the beautiful colors. Would like to post pics...but puter decided the The usb ports my camera plugs into are broke. I tried reinstalling the driver/hardware...let me load one pic & says it's broke again...sigh...I hate puters.

Liz Don's are great. ;D I looked over the slabs. It looks like some are slice off the rough and a couple look like the rough may have been split like a biscuit. Another RTH member; Dale, had said you could split the thin ones (about a half inch thick) like a biscuit and that would reveal other patterns; some mind blowing. I just have one piece of rough. It is about two pounds and it is wedge shaped that tapers to about a half inch. I am planning on cutting it in two and slicing the thicker half and split the other half like a biscuit. I will take photos as I go and post them here on Monday.

Looks like Don had some of the rarer material. How wonderful to be able to afford that kind of rock to smash.

Tut Tut Space! To each his own!
I think I'll try the biscuit method with a smaller piece I have!

I realize most people do not know Tahoma comes from a very small claim operated by three older guys (miners) high in Washingtons Cascade mountains reached by a several mile journey up a goat track that is not only covered by snow seven months of the year, but has to be broken out of the gangue by hand. Sometime this coming summer, I will post pictures from the claim, the track going in, and the material insitu.

I bought a lot of tehoma (what Frank called it) from rough-n-tumble on ebay. I still have some nice slabs put aside. I love the stuff but it can be treacherous and would never want to pay a lot for a slab unless I could get my fingers on it.

Liz: I am one of the OLD guys, but not one of the claim owners. I do however hound with them. BTW you finally won a nice group, please post pictures of what you make.
