Here is some rhodonite from British Columbia. The tumbled stones are from rough I bought and tumbled from the same supplier (Green's Lapidary, Calgary) a couple of years ago. The 7 lb chunk of rough I got today. I wish the new rough was a darker pink, but maybe there are some better areas once I get into it.

Wow those tumbles are nice. Looks like a great shine. I have a mixed load of rhodonite and Mariposite just going into polish tomorrow. Hope mine do as well. The Mariposite is going to be a failure for sure as it just didn't smooth out at all but so far the rhodonite is looking pretty good.....mel

I love rhodonite. I just finished making a bracelet using some rhodonite and am debating on a necklace with it too. That polished batch is gorgeous! Sandy

You mind if I ask how much you paid for a 7lb chunk of that "BC rhodonite"? At the prices i've seen around here (ironically, right next to the only two sources of the stone in BC) that chunk would be worth more than $35 Cdn.

LCARS, I think it was Cdn $6/lb, or Cdn $42 for 7 lbs. Overall, I'm rather disappointed with the piece -- the stuff I got from Green's a couple years back was much nicer material, there's a lot of bland/waste areas on the current piece. I guess when they said two years ago that their supplies were limited, they must really be down to the bottom of the barrel now. -Don
